Located on Washington Boulevard, Rachael's Dowry Bed and Breakfast, an Inn in Baltimore, Maryland has a quiet charm that takes you back to the early 19th Century.
The Inn has six beautifully decorated guest rooms that tastefully blend period furnishings with modern comforts.
All rooms have central air conditioning, individually controlled auxiliary heat and ceiling fans.
Contemporary private baths in each room that feature large walk-in showers, several with full baths. Hair dryers and other toiletries are provided.
The Inn is appointed with Federal antique furnishings; the front parlor and the dining room each have a beautiful working fireplace with comfortable seating for reading, chatting or enjoying the ambiance of the surroundings. There is also a small library where you can enjoy reading a book selected from our private collection or entertain yourself with a board game.
The grand staircase features landings that provide little hide-a-ways to sit, contemplate or enjoy some peaceful reading time.
Each room has a fireplace equipped with aesthetic operable logs that add comfort and warmth.
Evening room preparation includes turning down of the bed, window treatment preparations and tidying.
The Inn has a tranquil courtyard and beautiful front gardens where one can slow down and enjoy the surrounding plants, trees and flowers.
A fresh breakfast, using local and organic produce, is prepared daily and served between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Local and national newspapers are provided, to accompany your breakfast.
Appointments include work from local artisans.
Green technology has been incorporated in the restoration and maintenance of the Inn. A solar hot water system, extensive use of building salvage, highly efficient appliances and fixtures, natural cleaning agents and use of local products all contribute to our effort to conserve the natural environment and resources.
Clock radios and reading lights are in each guest room, as well as iPod/iPhone docking stations. The following items are available for each room upon request: Direct TV, DVD Player, white noise machine, iron and ironing board.

Reservations may be confirmed by a credit card deposit received seven days prior to check-in. Cash or payments by check will not be accepted.
Cancellations: Deposits will be refunded for all cancellation of reservations received ten days prior to check-in, less a twenty-five dollar administration fee. Cancellations received less than ten days prior to check-in will result in forfeiture of the deposit. |
