Overview

	The Dutch Iris Bed & Breakfast Inn is a beautiful 1812 Colonial set on three acres in the historic section of Granby, CT. The home was built by James Dibble and sold to Calvin Dibble in 1858. His portrait still hangs in the foyer. For many years, his granddaughter, Mary Edwards, and her family strictly used the house as their summer home
	Many antiques were left in the house by the Edwards family as they felt the pieces "belonged to the house." An 1835 Chickering grand piano, as well as a fainting couch, a four poster bed, marble top dresser and a Louis XIV couch were all left with the house.

Location & Transportation

Hartford is 20 minutes, Simsbury is 5 minutes and Springfield, MA is 20 minutes

Directions

From North: Take I-91 South to Exit 40 (Rt./20 West). Take Rt./20 West into Granby (6 mi.). Turn left onto Rt./10 South. The inn is the 4th house on the right. From South: Take I-84 East to Exit 39 (Rt. 4). Stay on Rt. 4 into Farmington. At second traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 10 North. (Farmington Country Club is on your right at the intersection). Follow signs for Rt. 10 North through Avon and Simsbury into Granby (14 mi.). The inn is on your left, directly across from South Church.

The innkeepers, Kevin & Belma Marshall,have created a special menu designed to leave you full and satisfied. The perennial and bulb gardens on the grounds surround the inn with their natural beauty as blueberries and blackberries grow wild all around. Its truly a respite form lifes hubbub. You might want to rock in a rocking chair on the side porch sipping lemonade or herb tea and take in the sight and scents. Your day will begin with a candlelight breakfast accompanied by soft playing classical music in the quaint dining room. Enjoy one of our delicious breakfasts from our full breakfast menu. Always look forward to being served fresh fruit and juice daily. All of our amenities from wireless Internet access to digital cable have been chosen with you in mind
